Francisco Moncion Pastel on Paper circa 1980. Pastel is 14 x 10 inches. Framed 23.25 x 19 inches. Francisco Moncion (1917-1995) was a founding member and principal dancer of the New Yotk City Ballet. Choreographer George Balanchine created 22 roles on Moncion including his iconic "Prodical Son". Moncion had a parallel carreer as an artist throughout the 1950-1990s working and exhibiting alongside Corrado Cagli, Miro and Picasso. This is a rare pastel on paper titled 'Exeunt (Grande Exit)' depicting musicians and ballerina Maria Tallchief exiting the stage. From the Moncion Collection this work is in its original gold leaf frame with a deep white mat.
